Copper Dome Lamp
There are times in life when you look at something and all you can do is shake your head in absolute amazement.
This is one of those times.
From the moment I decided to create this custom piece, I knew it would be something distinctive. Wanted to create something that no one else has…something that people will talk about. And as you can see, the idea blossomed from one of our best-selling Edison Lamps.
And there’s no other design like it………..anywhere.
I began with a solid copper metal base that I had hand-spun right here in northeast Ohio. Don’t know if you’re familiar with the art of metal spinning, but this is not some stamped cheap metal part you’ll find on the shelf at Walmart. If you’ll look closely, you’ll see slight tool marks in the raw copper that add character unseen with mass-produced lights.
Why solid copper? Because copper is to metal as diamonds are to jewels. You want to see a woman cry? You don't buy her a cubic zirconium, you buy a real diamond. You want your lamp to be a conversation piece? You don't buy a fake copper finish, you get the real thing.
Resting on top of the base, you’ll find a fixed trundle that I had custom made with black accents to create a striking combination with a “steampunk” style in order to set it apart.
I also wanted to dress-up the copper base with a custom vintage style on/off switch, so I created an exclusive three-dimensional high-relief switch cover. Very nice. All metal. Exceptional quality.
It is also adorned with jet black cloth-covered twisted wire with a matching vintage-style plug. The cloth-covered wire is imitation silk and adds a distinctive flair. You don’t want to hide this cord.
We’re also including the Nostalgic Spiral Filament LED Edison Bulb (pictured) at no additional charge. This bulb is awesome and adds a nostalgic, yet subtle brightness to any room. The bulb easily screws into the solid brass light socket with a Polished Copper finish.
Encasing everything is a crystal clear glass dome that completes the piece.
Most of the parts, pieces, and fittings were custom fabricated and the entire light stands approximately 9” tall with a 5” diameter base. It’s solid inside and out…no cheap plastic or flimsy materials here. It’s built to last.
++++
Please note that this is hand-crafted of solid copper, brass, finials, screws, fittings, etc. You may find scratches, bumps, dents, smudges, etc., and these imperfections are included at no additional charge.
As a side note, we have many retail store owners across the country begging us to wholesale our products to them. But we'll never do it. Why? Because we won't cheapen our products by mass producing them.
That's why you won’t find our products in the big retail stores, they are not made overseas, and certainly do not come off the assembly line. They are created, formed, and assembled by hand in our small workshop in historic downtown Amherst, Ohio to present you with spectacular shape, symmetry, and hues that are functional and well-pleasing to the eye.
Take a look at our shop reviews. Everyone LOVES our products and you will too. If you haven’t taken a look at every single picture—and enlarged each one—you might want to.
You also might want to click on the green “Add to Cart” button…quickly. There are times to wait in life…but again…this is not one of those times.
This stunning lamp is built to order and will take about 3 weeks or so. Thanks for you patience as we create yours!
